Concentrated Inspiration
The new ALDI Nord Campus, the food discounter’s new corporate headquarters, is characterised by its terraced office complex with extensive green roofs and versatile, emphatically natural and park-like open spaces. Viewed from the air, the building ensemble is reminiscent of the A in the company logo.
With special attention given to sustainability and transparency, the campus is an ideal place to work in a concentrated and inspired way. At the same time, it offers employees various opportunities and spaces to engage in sports, recreation, or interaction and communication. Adjacent to the café and restaurant areas are two semi-natural retention basins, where rainwater and roof water are collected. These water retention areas, which are filled to varying levels depending on the weather, are bounded by a ribbon of seating steps that echo the architectural facade, forming a “grandstand to nature”.
The grounds boast diverse sports fields and multifunctional areas, a childcare centre, and various landscaped areas with herbal, perennial, or terraced gardens. A circular route that can be used as a jogging path links all the outdoor areas.
