1000 Island Lake Resort Hotel (UDC Jinxian Bay International Tourist Resort), Chun'an, Hangzhou (CN)

Garden terraces

Konzept

The Qiandao Lake (meaning "Lake of a Thousand Islands") in the district of Chun'an is a reservoir with a water surface of 573 km², an average depth of 34m and a consistent water temperature of 25°C. 1078 larger and smaller islands are spread throughout the lake.

The 1000 Islands Lake Resort Hotel is currently being developed on a peninsula in the northeast of the Qiandao Lake. The facility is characterised by the unique contrast between land and water, a quality that is further highlighted by the landscape architectural design.

The individual villas are aligned along the water’s edge, like a pearl necklace around the island. The hotel with its conference centre thrones above them on the highest peaks of the mountain. The connection between the mountains and the water will be created by garden terraces in each of the respective valleys, creating connective axes between the land and the water.
High points, serving as viewing points, will be accentuated by planting groves of blossom trees.
