The sports park island

Konzept

The comprising interplay of architecture and landscape architecture gives the Suzhou Olympic Sports Centre a unique design that is full of character: a sports valley with meandering paths, fitness routes and leisure islands based on a dynamic river landscape are spatially limited by pedestal-like raised sports islands with terraced sports fields and podium plazas that are crowned by individual stadiums visible from afar.

In contrast to the organic design language of the inner sports park, the Olympic Sports Centre is generously enclosed by a linear promenade area that runs alongside the surrounding streets.
